INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND

LICP’s mission is to advocate for economic development that benefits Long Island City’s industrial, commercial, cultural, and residential sectors. The goal is to attract new businesses to LIC, retain those already here, welcome new residents and visitors, and promote a vibrant and authentic mixed-use community. LICP is a 501(c)(3) that operates the Long Island City Business Improvement District (LIC BID) and the LIC Industrial Business Zone, among other programs.

PROPOSAL TIMETABLE

Caterers interested in submitting proposals to provide such services should follow the instructions in this Request for Proposals (RFP). Proposals should be prepared by providing a straightforward and concise description of the capabilities of the responding firms to satisfy the requirements of the RFP.  Long Island City Partnership reserves the right to negotiate with proposers or to reject any or all proposals. 

LICP assumes no responsibility and no liability for costs incurred by the responding firm(s) prior to the issuance of a contract.

SCOPE OF SERVICES - CATERING SERVICES

Your proposal is expected to cover the following schedule and catering services needed:

  1. Green Room (8:30 am – 2:00 pm), 25 people, Drinks: water, coffee, tea, Snacks (examples): granola bars, fruit, chips (food that can sit out all day)
  2. Breakfast in Cafe (8:30 am - 9:30 am), 200 people, Drinks: Coffee, tea, water, juice, Continental Breakfast, including vegan and gluten free options. 
  3. Lunch in Cafe and Digital Learning Suite (1:00 pm - 2:30 pm), 300 people (including 10 kosher), High-end box (grab and go, fork and knives are not needed), including vegan and gluten free options
  4. All-day Water, Coffee and Tea Service
  5. Same Day Garbage removal post event

PROPOSAL CONTENT 

Caterer must meet all necessary requirements as outlined in Museum of the Moving Image Catering Regulations.

•    Caterer must provide staffing, including a staff member for the Green Room
•    There is no kitchen; the prep room is located just off of the Cafe 
•    No red food or beverages or open flame allowed
•    Production costs/ Table & Linen rentals estimate must be included in proposal

CATERING BUDGET

The LICP has a very modest budget for catering services. Catering services cannot exceed the following:

•    $12,000 Catering Services (Total)
•    $2,500 Rentals/Production
