“at the eleventh hour” describes something happening in the final moment; the title of Tse Fei’s solo exhibition At the Twelfth Hour means it is too late.
Statement by the Artist:
“As an artist-in-residence in New York from Hong Kong, life is never an easy one, especially during this politically unstable period of my place. “At the Twelfth Hour” employs the 12-hour timezone difference between the two places to deal with the powerlessness and loneliness I experienced… It will be perhaps too late for me to go back to Hong Kong.”
Tse Fei is a conceptual artist and a secondary school Visual Arts teacher. Tse Fei was a janitor, was a security guard, was a designer; was a worker in a construction site; was an architecture student. As Shakespeare said, “We know what we are, but know not what we may be.” He believes that the possibility of a man and his art should be unlimited.
