The Waiting Room is a 75-minute musical theatre showcase conceived and produced by Rouge Productions. The production features four singer-performers who find themselves stranded together in the reception area of a psychiatry office when the doctors fail to arrive. Before anyone can leave, a shelter-in-place alert is issued: an apocalyptic event is unfolding outside. Trapped together with nowhere to go, four strangers who came seeking help are left only with each other.
What follows is an intimate, darkly comedic, and deeply human journey through the stages of grief told through song. Drawing from contemporary musical theatre, classic Broadway, and arranged pop, the evening moves from irreverent humor to quiet reckoning, arriving somewhere true. A mix of solo, duet, and full ensemble numbers, The Waiting Room is equal parts concert, character study, and meditation on what it means to be alive at the end of everything.
The Waiting Room is Produced by Katie Lavelle & Lizzy Cole with Music Direction from Billy Blair and Stage Direction from J.D. Amentt. It stars Lizzy Cole, David Marmanillo, Sarah Ferro, and Tal Marcello Zamir.
