Artists for Mutual Aid NYC (AFMA) is a volunteer-run collective of NYC activists that host art markets to fundraise for mutual aid groups and other local social justice efforts. AFMA typically chooses a mutual aid effort to support, and asks vendors to donate 15-20% of their day’s profits toward it. In the past, AFMA has fundraised for the No North Brooklyn Pipeline Alliance, BK Rot, the Divine Explosion Art Program in Brownsville, Mayday Space, and the Dandelion’s Collective. This season, all fundraisers will go to Mi Tlalli, an organization that directly supports immigrant families impacted by ICE pre, during, and post detention.

A Sea In-MOTION is a low carbon footprint performance and visual installation that advocates for radical pacifism in an Eco-Feminist Futurity. Weaving together a song cycle, dance, and new media, in a site-specific installation made of sustainably harvest materials, A Sea In-MOTION reflects on the broken systems perpetuating unethical economic practices. Developed by the Radical Queer artists collective Pioneers Go East Collective, it draws inspiration from Françoise d’Eaubonne’s Eco-Feminist writings and Guattari’s LGBTQ+ theories.
