Day of the Dead Celebration 2026

Celebrate a vibrant and authentic Day of the Dead at Museum of the Moving Image with a performance of Aztec Mexica dance, fun digital media activities for kids and families, music from the Indigenous dance troupe Yayauhki Tezcatlipoka, and the Mexican Folkloric Ballet of New York. Historical characters from Día de Muertos will also inspire a free face-painting session. All are welcome to explore our ofrenda, a public altar, presented by the artist and historian Rosa Ruíz and Catrinamía. Co-presented by the Mexican Cultural Institute. Free admission
