Looking for ways to celebrate the Lunar New Year in LIC? LICP’s fifth annual LIC Lunar New Year Celebration has you covered, with 50+ Lunar New Year-themed events and promotions for residents and visitors of all ages! Taking place from February 17 to March 3, the two-week program brings together top cultural institutions, eateries, and more for cultural performances, special menu offerings, and much more.
LIC Lunar New Year Neighborhood Lion Dance
Friday, February 27, 4-6 p.m.
LIC Lunar New Year 2026 culminates in a Lion Dance procession along Jackson Avenue from LIC Food Hall to MoMA PS1 on Friday, February 27, at 4 p.m. The lion dance will kick off at the corner of 28th Street and 42nd Road at 4 p.m., stop briefly in Rafferty Triangle at 4:45 p.m., and conclude at MoMA PS1 Plaza around 5:20 p.m. for closing remarks from elected officials.
The lion will stop in and bless businesses along the way, including the LIC Food Hall, Red Sorghum, Aloft Long Island City, Sapps, Soothr LIC, and USWOO.
