SUMMARY:Free Public Walkup Kayaking at Anable Basin
DESCRIPTION:We are expecting the “best weekend weather of the summer.” Join LICCB to celebrate with a short paddle on one of LICCB’s stable sit-on-top kayaks. No advance sign up required this weekend. Just show up\, sign a waiver\, put on a life jacket and grab a paddle. We provide the boats\, gear and help you to launch into Anable Basin for your own 20-minute self-guided tour of this sheltered tributary of East River. It’s first come first served until capacity is reached so come early. Last check-in 30 minutes before closing. Our floating dock is now in place\, but our ramp is not yet ready. We’ll access the dock via a ladder so no minors or pets please until the ramp is re-installed. Dress for success under the strong sun keeping in mind that your feet and seat will likely be wet.\nWhile there is no charge for this weekend’s events\, we encourage\, appreciate and depend upon your generous donations to keep us afloat.\nVolunteering with us enables to offer more dates\, more hours and to field more boats. If that’s for you\, introduce yourself to any volunteer and we’ll get you started right away. Active helpful volunteers get priority seating on our cool river trips beyond the Basin! See you on the water this weekend. Saturday August 2nd and Sunday Aug 3rd 3pm-6pm both days.

DESCRIPTION:Join LinkNYC\, LIC Partnership and the LIC BID for a special member-only webinar to learn about the Link Local program which offers free and low cost advertising campaigns on LinkNYC kiosks for small businesses\, non-profits\, and neighborhood associations\, among others. \nRSVP \nAbout the Presenters: \n  \nFrances Bates is the Manager of Government and Community Affairs at LinkNYC. Frances serves as a bridge between LinkNYC and the governmental entities\, community-based organizations\, and key stakeholders they support. Frances focuses on building meaningful partnerships\, developing community-driven initiatives\, and fostering strong relationships with elected officials\, city agencies\, and local leaders. A key part of Frances’ work includes supporting small business owners and nonprofit organizations through their LinkLocal advertising program. Everything Frances does is rooted in advancing LinkNYC’s mission to enhance connectivity and promote community engagement through innovative digital infrastructure that empowers and connects all New Yorkers. \n  \nAlba Cuellar is the Community Specialist and LinkLocal Coordinator for LinkNYC. In this role\, Alba focuses on delivering an exceptional user experience for everyone utilizing their Link features\, whether it’s making calls\, accessing Wi-Fi\, using tablet functionalities\, or any other feature\, as well as gathering the public’s feedback. A key aspect of Alba’s work is ensuring that the LinkLocal program continues to serve as a free advertising platform for small businesses\, non-profits\, and community organizations across NYC. Alba is committed to continuously improving their practices\, educating the community about this incredible platform\, and ensuring it remains a valuable resource for all New Yorkers.
