Expanding on the Pass the Crown photo portrait series\, the project was inspired by the artist Pri’s late grandmother\, who had dementia and wore a crown in the final photo portrait taken of her by the artist. That crown became a symbol of resilience\, memory\, and dignity. That very same crown is now passed from model to model within the Pass the Crown photo series\, with each model impacted by dementia\, representing the continuation of their stories. Drawing from over a decade of experience as a dementia caregiver of both her grandmother and aunt\, the artist creates an interactive experience that invites audiences to engage with personal histories. \nThe installation features five large-scale editorial portraits\, each framed with symbolic materials reflecting the subject’s life. An interactive timeline highlights key moments\, while Augmented Reality (AR) allows visitors to unlock deeper layers of each story through images\, audio\, and personal artifacts. DESCRIPTION:Kasset is an indie band made up of five CUNY students from Colombia\, Indonesia\, Poland\, and the U.S. They blend indie and classic rock with R&B vibes creating a sound shaped by their backgrounds and shared experiences.\n​\nIt all started when Juanita (bass/vocals) and Noah (guitar/lead vocals) performed together at Brooklyn Music School. By their second performance at the Baruch Performing Arts Center\, the group had already grown to include Joey (drums)\, Faikar (guitar)\, and Amelia (keyboard/vocals). United by their passion for music\, Kasset was born.\n​\n“This show is our chance to share what we love doing with the people we love. It’s about the music\, but also about the community we’ve built along the way.” – Kasset \n​Don’t miss Kasset’s show at LPAC! \nThis is their first show as headliners. A time to find balance with duality. In life there is day and night\, feminine and masculine\, sunrise and sunset\, up and down\, and the transitioning points in between. These transitions are when we ascend into our courageousness\, boldness and even-mindedness. Just like cacao it comes from under the ground grows with both darkness and light to then bring harmony to our being. The diversity of life comes from these dualities dancing in harmony and we can live in that cosmic dance too. \nYour guides\, Carolina Bolivar and Andrea Bertucci will be guiding you with this cacao ceremony into finding transcendance and beauty with your duality. through the energy of Aq’a’bal\, the energy of the dawn and dusk\, feminine and masculine\, yin and yang. \nBoth Carolina Bolivar and Andrea Bertucci are Mayan Cosmovision students and initiates of Nana Marina Cruz to share cacao and Mayan Cosmovision. \nProceeds will be contributed to Siembra Today.
