The work unfolds as its making unfolds\, until we arrive at a potential beginning. kid subjunctive features performances by Gabby Duncan\, Christy Funsch\, Emily Hansel\, Zoe Huey\, and Phoenicia Pettyjohn. Each of the performers contributes to the work’s soundscore; Christy Funsch fills out the score with electric guitar. kid subjunctive is made possible in part with public funds from the Queens Arts Fund\, a re-grant program supported by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and administered by the New York Foundation for the Arts. \nFeeling for the edge in the dark Is a new work from Dr. Evilletown exploring what it means to continually search for something you can not see\, in contrast with “going through the motions”. This performance experience combines live sound\, movement\, and video. How can we merge our dream life with our realities? Working towards goals\, or seeking a higher power\, can feel separate from what we are actually doing: providing for our families\, working\, routine chores.

SUMMARY:A Universe of Stories: Robotic Camp
DESCRIPTION:Humans have accomplished amazing things in our pursuit to understand the universe\, and this program aims to make your learner a part of the story! Snapology’s A Universe of Stories Space Robotics program allows children to explore different aspects of space science and deep space exploration through building robotic models that mimic the concepts that they are investigating. They will discuss the movement of astronomical objects\, the developments in space exploration\, and the past\, present\, and future of space travel.\nWHAT STUDENTS WILL LEARN \n• Basic Astronomy\nThis workshop takes a tour of all the planets in our solar system\, examines the concept and importance of constellations\, and closely investigates the other astronomical objects that fill our solar system. Students will discuss these topics with their classmates and a trained Snapologist in order to use those complex concepts to build concrete examples that show their knowledge while providing plenty of space for creativity. You will be amazed at the knowledge your child gains through our hands-on\, student-focused activities! \n• Presentation Skills\nMany school-age students struggle when it comes to their presentation skills in the classroom. Snapology will help your child feel more comfortable presenting in front of a class by having the child explain their unique creations to their peers in an inviting\, low-stakes way. Presenting their creations will help their confidence in front of a group of people and will translate into their everyday self-assurance in the classroom. \n• Teamwork/Partner Skills\nSmall groups and peer partners are key components of Snapology’s classroom approach. We emphasize positive teamwork skills in our programs and diligently work to develop healthy\, respectful collaborations between students. Through group planning\, sharing of materials\, and fun partner experiences\, students become more cognizant of how to interact with their peers in a respectful and productive way.
