SUMMARY:Cacao Circle | Mayan Tradition | Rooting our Actions
DESCRIPTION:We’re gathering to share in ceremonial cacao\, meditation\, and sound healing. Guided in reverence to Mayan cosmology and held with devoted presence\, each ceremony is prepared as prayer. \nCacao is a sacred medicine we deeply honor\, and we are grateful to share it in community. \nThis gathering honors the sacred medicine of cacao and the Mayan Cosmovision\, followed by a grounding sound meditation. In alignment with ancestral traditions\, we drink cacao ceremonially and consciously\, guided by Mayan spiritual teachings. \nGuided by the energy of 5 Q’anil through the wisdom of the Maya Cholq’ij calendar and held within the trecena of K’at\, the sacred fire of liberation and un-entanglement\, we gather to nourish the seeds that have already been planted within our lives. \nQ’anil is the energy of fertility\, creation\, nourishment\, and maturation—supporting all that is seeking to grow into fuller expression. Combined with the energy of 5\, representing action\, reciprocity\, and the movement of creation through the hands\, this ceremony invites us to actively tend to what we are building with devotion\, courage\, and trust. \nUnder the guiding fire of K’at\, we are invited to release the fears\, attachments\, and limitations that keep us entangled from our growth so that what is meant for us may mature with greater clarity and alignment. \nIf you’re looking to awaken into a more true version of you\, this is the perfect time to petition what you need for your intention to become true. \n🌱 Under the Energy of 5 Q’anil\, we set intentions around taking action for our: \n– Fertility & creation\n– Nourishing dreams and intentions\n– Businesses\, projects & aligned action\n– Maturation & long-term growth\n– Releasing stagnation and limitation\n– Trusting what is unfolding naturally \n✨ What to Expect \n🪶 Smudging & energetic cleansing\n☕️ Ceremonial cacao\n💐 Flower altar & incense\n🕯️ Candle-lit sacred space\n🎶 Sound healing meditation \n✨ What to Bring \n🌷 Flowers to create the collective flower altar\n🫘 Sesame seeds\, beans and corn seeds\n🫐 Fruits and vegetarian food to bless the altar and share after ceremony \nCome share in the warmth of ceremony\, community\, and ancient wisdom. 🌿✨ \nContribution Suggestions \n$45–$54 | Cacao Admirers\nCovers cacao\, flowers\, incense\, altar items\, and cups + venue rental \n$55–$65 | Cacao Enthusiasts\nSupports ceremony\, venue\, and future gatherings \n$66+ | Cacao Sponsors\nSupports the circle\, future gatherings\, and community members in financial need \nCacao is a sacred medicine we cherish and we’re grateful to share this in community.

SUMMARY:COVER COLLAGE & MEMORY MIXTAPE WORKSHOP
DESCRIPTION:Inspired by COVERS BY MP3\, this playful\, hands-on workshop invites participants to create a mini CD keychain with a shareable memory playlist\, paired with a self-designed album cover. \nCOVERS BY MP3 is a multimedia community arts project that documents stories from the Korean diaspora through music\, memory\, and recreated album covers featuring participants in place of the original artists. \nIn this workshop\, participants will build a playlist of the music that has shaped their lives and collage an album cover inspired by the memories it evokes. Their design will then be transformed into a mini CD keychain that links to the playlist\, allowing their personal soundtrack to be shared at the tap of a phone. \nParticipants are welcome to bring 1–2 photos to scan and add to their collage. \nThis program is made possible in part with public funds from the Queens Arts Fund\, a re-grant program supported by New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and administered by New York Foundation for the Arts. \nIt is also made possible through the generous support of the Queens Public Library.
