SUMMARY:Día de los Muertos Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Día de los Muertos Celebration & Cacao Ceremony \nJoin us for our 3rd annual Día de los Muertos celebration\, an evening to remember\, honor\, and stay connected with our loved ones who have transcended. \nAbout Día de los Muertos\nDía de los Muertos is a living tradition rooted in pre-Hispanic rituals\, with origins reaching back more than 3\,000 years to the Indigenous peoples of the Americas\, including the Olmec\, Maya\, and Aztec\, who honored death as a natural part of life’s cycle. On November 1st and 2nd\, the spirits of the departed are believed to return home to spend time with their families. \nTo welcome them\, altars are built with offerings that each carry meaning: \n– Candles to guide the souls to the altar \n– Marigolds (cempasúchil)\, the flower of the dead for the Aztecs. Its name comes from the Nahuatl for “twenty flowers\,” and its golden petals were said to hold the warmth of the sun \n– Water to quench the thirst of souls after their long journey \n– Incense to mark the passage from life to death and keep away unwelcome spirits \n– Pan de muerto\, a sweet bread that honors the generosity of the family \n– Favorite foods and drinks to delight the departed \n– Photographs of the loved ones being honored \n– Sugar skulls (calaveras)\, sometimes inscribed with a loved one’s name\, as playful reminders that life and death live side by side \nOur Celebration\nWe’ll gather for a cacao ceremony and a traditional Mexica Día de los Muertos celebration centered around a three-tiered altar. Place photos of your family members and beloved pets on the altar\, along with food offerings for your loved ones. The evening includes ceremonial smudging and live music. \nWhat to bring: \n– Candles and marigolds \n– Photos of your loved ones who have passed \n– Food offerings for your loved ones \n– A ceremonial cup or your favorite drinking cup \n– Traditional ceremonial or Mexica attire is welcome\, and you’re invited to paint your face as a sugar skull. \nCome as you are\, wherever you are in your connection with your transcended loved ones and leave feeling held by community and ancestral love. \nWe are offering this on sliding scale contribution to support celebration materials\, cacao\, decorations and the team.

SUMMARY:Restorative Sound Bath for Colombia Earthquake Relief Efforts
DESCRIPTION:Sound Bath — Restorative Evening Journey \nMonthly\, on the last Sunday of the month. \nA full-body listening practice using singing bowls\, flutes\, indigenous instruments\, shruti box\, and more — layered live to guide your nervous system from “on” to deeply “off.” \nFor our first monthly Sound Bath we are dedicating the session to Colombia and all who were affected by the earthquake. It’s donation-based\, with all proceeds going toward earthquake relief efforts in Colombia. \nWhat happened? \nOn August 10th\, a massive 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia\, centered near San José del Palmar in the Chocó region. It’s the strongest earthquake to hit the country in decades. Hundreds of people have died\, thousands more have been injured\, and tens of thousands of homes have been damaged or destroyed. Entire communities — many already among Colombia’s most under-resourced — are now without stable shelter\, clean water\, or access to basic health care. Rescue and relief efforts are still ongoing. \nWhat You’ll Experience \nYou’ll lie down\, get comfortable\, and let the sound do the work. No movement\, no effort — just resonance washing over you in waves. The vibrations from crystal and metal singing bowls\, breathy overtones from wooden and bamboo flutes\, the steady drone of the shruti box\, and instruments drawn from indigenous healing traditions work together to slow your brainwaves\, calm your nervous system\, and release tension stored deep in the body. \nSound bath is one of the most accessible forms of meditation — you don’t need to “clear your mind\,” you just need to lie down and receive. \nMany people report:\n– Deep physical and mental relaxation\n– Reduced stress\, anxiety\, and racing thoughts\n– Better sleep in the days following\n– Release of tension held in the body\n– A reset for the nervous system after a demanding stretch of life \nBring a mat\, blanket\, and anything that helps you get cozy.
