The area designated for our Jane’s Walk is in Long Island City, a community that has gone through a complete transformation over the past generation.
It is a fascinating place whether one is arriving on mass transit to walk around or navigating walkways to thread through street traffic, Long Island City is a model community designed with accessibility from planning through implementation.
The pace of the tour will accommodate the abilities of all participants – children, individuals with disabilities, and seniors.
GUIDE TOUR LEADER: Alan Arichavala: I write and record forgotten moments of a bygone era before it disappears forever.
GUIDE ASSISTANT: Bob Singleton: The Society keeps me most active with writing three columns, managing tours, also classroom and guest lectures.
