The Blue Bus Project invites the Long Island City community to take part in The Waters Weaver Challenge, a community-wide collection campaign running through September 30.
Start noticing the single-use plastic that passes through your hands every day—at home, at work, or on your daily walk. Collect it, clean it, and help transform it into The Waters Weaver, a 10-foot community-built public sculpture dedicated to our shared responsibility for protecting our waterways.
If you’ve walked along the Hunters Point waterfront, you may already know OctoTrash and Bottle to Bottle House, public artworks created from reclaimed materials with the participation of our community. The Waters Weaver continues that journey, inviting LIC residents to help create the next one.
SAVE IT • CLEAN IT • DROP IT OFF • WEAVE IT
Drop-off is available in Long Island City, and local pickup can also be arranged.
Learn more, see accepted materials, and find drop-off information on the Waters Weaver project page.
