LIC Partnership’s signature free community street festival, LIC Springs!, returned on Sunday, June 1—and what a day it was. Thousands came out to Vernon Boulevard for interactive art, a mesmerizing rock music set, and the unforgettable sight of a 12-foot Zhongkui puppet parading with a masked Peking opera performer and budaixi hand puppet. There were also many other kinds of activities and giveaways as good as a Mexican vacation. Add in the perfect weather, and it’s no surprise this was one of our best-attended years yet.
