Saturday Night with Lightsaber Swordplay

Joy Chen
Bring your inner Jedi to life in this special 3-hour open level lightsaber swordplay and stage combat workshop with Joe Travers—founder of Swordplay, NYC’s longest running stage combat school and professional fight director and stunt coordinator. Learn how to handle the lightsaber safely applying concepts grounded in period swordplay and martial arts. We will be using American made "Kyberlight" lightsabers which have realistic sound effects and changing colors. The workshop will incorporate elements of fantasy and fun into star wars inspired duels and lay the foundation for each student to learn basic strikes and footwork and stage combat techniques. By the end of the workshop you will have mastered both roles in a choreographed lightsaber fight sequence. Feel free to bring a date or friend! There will be a short snack break in between the 3hour long workshop. $80 full price per person $70 member price per person Joe Travers Founder of Swordplay, is a professional fight director and stunt coordinator.
