2nd Annual NYC Career and Technical Education (CTE

The NYC CTE team in collaboration with Long Island City Partnership, are hosting their annual meet and greet event in June 2017. The event will bring a select group of LIC Partnership’s members together with CTE school leaders and in LIC Partnership’s target area. LIC is home to eight CTE schools including schools such as Aviation CTE High School, Queens Vocation and Technical High School and Information Technology High School. These high quality CTE schools train students for careers in construction trades, architecture, culinary arts, hospitality, media and design, etc.

The goals for this meet and greet are:
* To showcase CTE schools and provide an informal opportunity for LIC businesses to learn more about high quality CTE programs in their community
* To provide LIC businesses and CTE schools an opportunity to network
* To provide a forum to discuss synergies between LIC’s businesses and CTE programs

About the hosts:

LIC Partnership is the Local Development Corporation (LDC) for greater Long Island City (LIC), operating the Long Island City Business Improvement District (LICBID) as well as the Industrial Business Zone (IBZ). The Partnership has been providing one-on-one business assistance for more than 30 years, since its founding in 1979.

The NYC Department of Education’s CTE team supports approximately 270 programs within over 120 high schools located across all five boroughs. CTE schools combine rigorous academics with technical training and industry certification. A dedicated industry engagement team supports these CTE schools in developing and managing strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in high growth industries.
