LIC Arts Open Gallery Presents Yeon Ji Yoo's UNDER

YEON JI YOO: UNDERTOW opens June 22nd through July 20th. Undertow is a body of work comprising a derelict landscape of deceased trees and uninhabitable houses degraded at the surface and preserved in story and memory only. As the ever present necessary current under the sea takes back all that was once pushed present onto the shore, so too does the progress of life building in the process of regression and aging.

The exhibition will be held just across the East River from Manhattan in Long Island City, Queens, at the LIC Arts Open Gallery at The Factory: a huge space in a historic landmark built in 1926 and originally used by Macy's as a furniture warehouse. The management team at The Factory have generously donated this space to LIC Arts Open for hosting shows throughout the year, as well as providing additional gallery space for the 7th annual LIC Arts Open festival.
