2nd Annual LIC Bulbfest

2nd Annual LIC Bulbfest

The 2nd Annual LIC Bulbfest on Saturday, October 22, is almost upon us! Please join the community at 10 AM at the train tracks in Hunters Point South Park in order to plant over 5,000 daffodil bulbs in both Hunters Point South Park and Gantry Plaza State Park. Rain-date for the Bulbfest will be October 29. Please check the Facebook event page for updates.

10 to 15 volunteers from Open Architecture NY will be also joining us as part of their annual Day of Impact service event in which architects and other design professionals partner with volunteer-based organizations like the HPPC to complete painting, planting, and rebuilding projects around New York City. For more information on Open Architecture NY and their Day of Impact, please go here.

This is also a family-friendly event and everyone is invited. We will have a face painter available to paint your favorite flowering bulb on either cheek or elsewhere. Refreshments will be provided by LIC Landing. All bulbs were generously donated by the Van Zyverden company.
